Vlad Caia (experimental dj set) & Ortaku (live painting) – feeder art & sound LIVE 🔴 recorded at Un-hidden Bucharest exhibition at Lente
After composing the soundtrack for Pisica Pătrată’s street art intervention at Romexpo in Bucharest (Bd. Expoziției) in August, the well-known local artist Vlad Caia returns behind the decks and his gear at the Un-hidden Bucharest exhibition alongside Ortaku who engaged in a live-painting session, creating intricate patterns on a large canvas.
Engulfed in Vlad’s experimental music for over 2 hours, the event took place on October 20th in the centre of the city at Lente, hosting 10 panels and 53 original works by 29 artists: Aeul, Alexandra Iliesco, Alexa Lincu, Alex Baciu, Antonia C, Barto, Coon One, Homeboy Ldj, Iluc, Irlo, John Dot S, Krips, Lux, Maria Bălan, Msero, Nesk, Ortaku, Ohboy, Pandele Radu, Pisica Pătrată, Pulsar Sinaps, Robert Obert, Roper, Seek Lines, Serebe, Taci 41, Toybox, Viață and Wanda.
Combining live experiments done with his gear and a fine selection of immersive tracks, Vlad Caia managed to create a warm atmosphere for the curious visitors who were present at Lente for the vernissage of the Un-hidden Bucharest exhibition, all while the eerie, abstract and twisted vibes of the music were perfectly represented by Ortaku on canvas during his live-painting session. This moment is elegantly combined with an incognito screen-printing demonstration by Octav Avramescu.
Vlad Caia has been internationally acclaimed for his productions and DJ sets for quite some time now as his intense activity in the electronic music scene spans many years and includes his collaboration with Cristi Cons as SIT and the ones behind Amphia Records, the project Amorf with the duo and Mischa Blanos playing amazing live sets and numerous vinyl and digital releases dropped via respected record labels around the world.
The Un-hidden Bucharest project, initiated by Save or Cancel and co-financed by Bucharest City Hall through ARCUB within the București Acasă 2023 program generated a series of artistic manifestations, including 5 urban art workshops, 5 guided tours, 1 artistic intervention multidisciplinary, 1 live stream performance and 1 exhibition, attended live by 448 people while the communication and promotion gathered 150k+ views in both physical and online environments.
