Xandru (soundtrack) & Alexa Lincu (mural) during Un-hidden Romania

The next multidisciplinary art intervention to be part of the Un-hidden Romania multiannual programme invites Open Call winner Alexa Lincu to paint a large mural at Special Secondary School No. 9 in Bucharest while local DJ and producer Xandru provides the soundtrack that connects visual art with modern electronic music. The following two events are scheduled for April and will feature unique artistic works created by Mr Thoms (Italy) and Andrei Felea (Romania), in partnership with Romexpo and the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC).

Find out more about the previous artistic interventions in public spaces featuring amazing works by Sandi and Oana in Brașov, Pisica Pătrată in Constanța, Ortaku and Toybox in Bucharest, Maria Bălan and Dragutesku in Bucharest, Bea Hopes and Bucurie in Iași and Wanda Hutira in Bucharest.

“But could youth last and life still breed? Through books, there’s no way it wouldn’t. As a life-changing experience, an invitation to discover the world, to discover yourself, a bequest. An encyclopedia of the state of being, of the soul. Shall it make us all grow?”

Perfectly illustrating Alexa Lincu‘s thoughts on her design, Xandru reveals a warm and steady-paced composition, elegantly crafted with meandering background textures, wavy pads, carefully placed breathing moments and mysterious vocal cuts that add an extra immersive dimension to the whole journey. This soundtrack follows his experimental DJ set recorded alongside Alexandra Iliesco’s live painting session at “Explorări Artistice ale Spațiului Public” (EASP) exhibition at ARCUB.

Alexa Lincu is an artist who has been drawing for as long as she can remember. After graduating from the Mural Art department of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, she experiments with both traditional and digital mediums to gain a better understanding of contemporary art. Her works are deeply introspective, drawing inspiration from current events and childhood memories to create a visual representation of a world full of new possibilities while reflecting a personal journey of self-discovery. Her ultimate goal is to create art that evokes emotions and encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences.
