Rowle presents its long-awaited 9th vinyl-only release with Viceversa at the controls, who returns to the label with “Depth Over Distance EP” after his successful “Space EP” released back in 2019. On this record, he delivers three fresh tracks designed with vivid melodies and uplifting rhythms, perfect to dance through a hot hot summer.
The remix on Side A is provided by Romanian DJ and producer Floog while early support comes from artists like Sublee, SIT, Barac, Cally, Mihai Pol, Silat Beksi, Herck, Raresh, Vlf, VincentIulian and Giuliano Lomonte.
Always crafting a mesmerizing blend of hypnotic rhythms and intricate soundscapes, Viceversa has meticulous attention to detail and the ability to create immersive sonic journeys making them a true standout in the electronic music scene. Among the labels he collaborated with we find Eastenderz, OGE, Point Of View, Thinc, More Than Music and UVAR while through his eponymous imprint, he brought forward eight vinyl-only releases until now.
Side a opens with “Sea Waves”, a dubby uptempo composition that will make anyone start moving their body in seconds. The reverberating chords fall into focus here as the solid drumming patterns create a hypnotic drive smoothly tempered with carefully placed breathing moments.
Following, Floog‘s remix switches gears a bit, rendering a thumping minimalistic groove that keeps to the energy of the original yet has a twisted approach when it comes to how much the modulations influence the initial layers. Here, the breakdowns are more sophisticated and the arrangement has a steady progression.
On the flipside, “Ocean Drive” and “Circular Quay” create a harmonious journey where rotating atmospheres, wobbling synth melodies and pungent drums merge into an eclectic sonic affair, best fitted for daytime sessions at any party.
