British venture Bread And Butter Recordings announces Edition 6 to arrive soon showcasing three of the hottest underground artists of the moment, Sunwaves’ heroes Cosmjn, Giuliano Lomonte and Nu Zau, who share this wax for a tasty minimal sound fragrant like bread and smooth like butter. Launched by Max Frisina back in 2018, the label so far released a solo EP signed by Silat Beksi and four Various Artists compilations featuring Doubting Thomas, Direkt, Vern, Piktor, Herck and Macarie, among others.
The three protagonists of this record are well-known figures in both local and international electronic music scenes and there’s definitely a delight to see them together on vinyl as we surely enjoyed watching them sharing the decks on several occasions. Let’s dive in and take a closer look at each track.
On Side A we find Cosmjn‘s groovy roller titled “Platzpark”, a steady-paced composition that packs a tight stripped-back rhythm complemented by futuristic bells that will resonate throughout the whole piece into an unending vortex. On the flipside, Giuliano Lomonte drops a deep and mellow dubby journey in the form of a “Dreamscape”, where analogue drums meet spacey echoing stabs and gentle vocal chops best fitted for a warm and cosy afterhours session while Nu Zau delivers a sharp and bouncy tune as the “Last one”. Here, as the track progresses, a dried-out groove sees the rise of bright pads and flourishing synth melodies that will work out on the dancefloor at any given moment. Enjoy the ride!
