After the recent release of Direkt’s Acabadabra EP and Vid’s Machine EP earlier this year, local record label UVAR drops Jardin De Sons Concrets EP by Viceversa on its Limited Black Series, a mind-bending four-tracker that explores the deeper sides of minimal techno, ambient and electro, all carefully merged into driving and introspective compositions alike. Well-known for his collaborations with Eastenderz, Skip Audio, MTMLTD, Thinc, Pathway Traxx as well as for his vinyl-only releases under his eponymous imprint, Viceversa brings forward a fresh minimal sound, powered by cosmic rhythms and textures, hypnotic melodies and progressive influences.

Side A opens with the title track “Jardin De Sons Concrets”, an uplifting rhythm that spins at around 125 bpm. The raw analogue feeling of the sounds and the constant twists and turns of all the elements create a tunnelling effect, perfect for steaming selections at any kind of party. Following, “Hdri” explores a deeper dimension focused on its atmospheres and ever-evolving narrative which receives solid influences from progressive and psychedelic electronica.

On Side B we first find “Tententwo”, a mellow swinging piece designed with numerous bleeps and glitches, warm background textures and spacious breakdowns. Here, the steady-paced drumming patterns smoothly lead the other layers into a cosmic diorama of moods and feelings, best-fitted for the afterhours. The closing track “Universo 25” returns to a higher tempo, revealing a powerful groove focused on wobbling arpeggios, spiralling chords and energising frequencies. A highly recommended record right here for selectors, collectors and minimal enthusiasts!
