Constratti – Late Summer EP (w. Sepp & Mihai Pol remixes) [Yecad Music]
Yecad Music announces its 3rd title in the catalogue to arrive soon in the form of “Late Summer” EP signed by Constratti alongside fellow Romanian producers Sepp and Mihai Pol on remix duties. Recently founded by Davide Zambetta and Albi, Uk-based venture Yecad is a vinyl-only platform focused on showcasing more stripped-back sounds from artists across the globe, with the first two releases featuring Sepp, Vlad Arapasu, Swoy, Ted Amber, Dragutesku and Barac.
Residing in the capital city of Bucharest, Constratti has grown to become a beloved producer and DJ on the local scene and beyond, racking up releases on Storytellers, Aesthetic, Eagervision, Cosmoz Records, PhonicHouse1 Records and Bread And Butter Recordings, among others. Now he joins Yecad’s roster with an amazing EP backed-up by inspiring remixes from Sepp and Mihai Pol.
Side A is reserved for the title track “Late Summer”, an uplifting composition powered by crisp drums and ethereal textures elegantly intertwined with a solid acid-tinged bassline and meandering melodies. Following, Sepp‘s remix shifts focus to a more rhythmic-fueled sound, bringing additional percussion to the mix while stirring in vocal chants and fragments of the original’s atmospheric core.
On the flip we first find the original take on “Tempura Rolls” diving deeper into minimal techno via bubbling synth textures, twitchy resonant glitches and airy pads, underpinned by a rumbling low-end drive and low-slung drums. Mihai Pol‘s reinterpretation rounds out the EP with a dancefloor-focused vibe courtesy of a gritty bass groove, saturated drums and the original’s smooth chords.
