After a successful chapter delivered by Venda earlier this year, the Chilean record label based in New Zealand, Sounds of Sirius, returns with a fantastic EP for its 6th release, inviting Swoy to deliver 4 unique and inspiring cuts in the form of “Haker EP”. Early support arrives from artists like Nu Zau, Mihai Pol, userUNKNWN, Silat Beksi and label head Herman Saiz.

With an artistic career that spans more than 20 years, Swoy is an accomplished DJ, producer and representative of the underground electronic music scene. Throughout time, he released numerous works under various aliases and collaborated with labels like Djebali, Hund Records, EWax, Rooted Series, Yecad, Skip Audio, Telum, OLO Records, Why So Series and Modeight Records, among others. Nowadays, he’s a member of the Into The Woods team in London ready to make his presence felt all over Europe and beyond.

Opening and naming the EP, “Haker” lays out a warm steady-paced rhythm flavoured with trippy glitched layers, swirling melodies and driving pads that bounce to the drums. The carefully placed breakdowns create a perfect balance between breathing moments and raising tension, making this cut perfect for peak time moments at any party.

Following, “Absurd” drops a trippy sonic affair focused on its vocal samples and solid bassline, while on Side B both tracks swing for something more atmospheric. “Whispering” dives deep into lush background textures and ever-evolving pads while “Hang” takes the journey further and revolves around the sounds of several percussion instruments, most notably the handpan.
