Constratti – Colourful EP (w. Vlad Arapasu Remix) [PhonicHouse1 Records]
After a stellar Various Artists compilation and an amazing release from Puxumos, Romanian label PhonicHouse1 Records returns with its third vinyl-only material in the form of “Colourful EP” signed by local artist Daniel Istrati aka Constratti alongside Vlad Arapasu on remix duties. Early support arrives from the likes of Praslea, Arapu, Sublee and Priku, among others.
Constratti has been previously featured on PhonicHouse1 in their digital catalogue while other works have been published with The Lab Records, Storytellers, Eagervision, Cosmoz Records, Aesthetic, Puls Romania, Micronica, Tzinah and others. Always pushing the limits of his creativity, he loves to experiment with minimal, microhouse and tech house, whether we talk about his productions or inspiring DJ sets.
Side A features the two original cuts “Colourful” and “Ursa Major”, both completing one another with elegance while delivering an immersive sound, perfect for the dancefloor. Their uplifting rhythms are smoothly flavoured with warm reverberating chords, phased effects, progressive arrangements and spacious breakdowns. On Side B we find Vlad Arapasu‘s reinterpretation of the title track, which takes the original down a notch to the groove avenue, adding an electric feeling through the layers. The chords become a funky anthem, a squelched bassline surfs the frequencies once every measure and the other effects definitely call out for a dance. A must-have 12″ right here for collectors and selectors alike.
