Following a masterful release from Swoy, Sounds of Sirius presents its first Various Artists compilation in the form of “Harmony of the Spheres” featuring local artist Mihai Pol, rising Chilean talent Nibaaldo, brotherly British duo Clay and Heath Ostrer aka Last Pines and Spanish DJ and producer Enzo Leep. Expect only top-notch underground electronic music that joins the musical dots between free-spirited artists working across the globe.

Harmony of the spheres is a philosophical concept highlighting proportions of the celestial bodies and their movements – the Sun, Moon and planets – as a form of music. These comic mathematical relationships express qualities or “tones” of energy which manifest in numbers, visual angles, shapes and sounds. Early support for this release arrives from artists like userUNKNWN, Silat Beksi and label head Herman Saiz, among others.

Side A opens with Mihai Pol‘s “The Sun” weaving through the frequencies with a funky swing powered by a wobbling bassline, solid drumming patterns and colourful textures. The breakdowns are carefully placed and create harmonious breathing moments. Following, “Midnight 01” by Last Pines dives deeper, revealing an introspective composition that twists and turns in the duo’s distinct take on minimal techno. Here, echoing vocals, meandering effects and solid percussive patterns elegantly intertwine in order to create a sonic journey best fitted for dimly lighted dancefloors.

On the flip, Nibaaldo’s “El Repaso De Ludovico” drops a driving stripped-back sound focused on its drumming patterns, highly modulated vocal samples and gritty effects while the closing cut “Full Bright Inside” by Enzo Leep drops a chugging rhythm infused with twisted complementary layers perfect for peak time moments at any party. A highly recommended 12″ right here for collectors and selectors alike!
