David Gtronic, Reboot – ITWS 008 [Into The Wizard’s Sleeve]

David Gtronic and Reboot join forces for the 8th vinyl-only instalment coming from Into The Wizard’s Sleeve, bringing forward 4 fresh cuts that smoothly combine breakbeat, electro, UK Garage and techno elements in a truly distinct sound perfect for the dancefloor. The record adds even more magic to the label’s discography which so far featured amazing electronic music signed by artists like dot13, Mr Barcode, Ricardo Villalobos, The Wizzard, Enzo Leep and Lukey.

Both David Gtronic and Reboot are widely known for their intense activity in the international community, having numerous performances and releases under their belts. This collaboration delivers something different, as they explore uncharted sonic dimensions rooted in broken beats, bass-heavy rhythms and trippy modulations.

“Leave Your Body” opens Side A with a thundering vibe powered by solid broken beats and jungle grooves, carefully placed vocal samples and several breakdowns that create even more tension while “Loose” dives deep into the abstract territories of electro music, laying out highly phased vocals, effects and arpeggios that twist and turn into a hypnotic affair.

On the flipside, we find the drilling charge of “Mind Games” which seems to pick up the tempo with each measure while maintaining a trippy balance between all its layers and the closing cut “Orlando Bass”, an intricate composition designed with pungent drumming patterns and warped basslines in contrast with the warm and diffused background pads and textures.
