feeder sound exclusive premiere: Toguè – Patchwork [Re.Face Records]
Italian electronic music venture Re.Face Records brings forward its 50th digital release with label head Toguè at the controls delivering “Minoir Miracle EP”, a steaming 5 tracker flavoured with various shades of minimal techno and microhouse grooves. Based in Pescara, Re.Face functions as a vinyl and digital publisher while constantly organising showcase events and running its vinyl-only side venture Koi Series.
Find out more about the label and collaborating artists from our EP Reviews for Los Bastoneros, Vern, Peshka, Nektar Agu, RWN, Liro and Core. The vinyl discography also includes works from producers like Tomic and Matteo aka Re_Named, Prodot, Cristi Murar, Avidel, Costin Rp, Cerec and Direkt while the digital catalogue includes many many other well-established and rising names alike.
“I’m very happy about this EP, as it both marks Re.Face’s 50th digital release as well as my return to my label after a few years. It features five original tracks within which I’ve expressed all the different sounds that I currently feel. From dreamy minimal to groovy deep house and breakbeat. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do!”Toguè
While the melancholic meandering chords and the steady-paced rhythm of the title track “Minoir Miracle” open the EP with an introspective atmosphere, our featured track for today “Patchwork” dives deep into uncharted sonic dimensions, laying out a stripped-down broken beat that’s smoothly complemented by ever-evolving soundscapes, spiralling arpeggios and warm textures.
Antonio Guerrieri aka Toguè is well-known for his intense activity in the international underground electronic music scene, always dropping amazing productions and DJ sets for the people. Aside from his constant dedication to the Re.Face and Koi Series concepts, he also collaborated with imprints like Subtil, Animae Ltd, Havalon, Kina Music, BP Digital and ar.ctic, among others.
Following, “Planet K” revolves around the same energy and drive as it explores variants and possibilities while “Surface Tension” takes off straight to the dancefloor as it drops an uplifting sonic affair powered by hypnotizing vocal cuts, reverberating background textures and carefully placed breakdowns. The closing cut “Telescopic” invites us all to experience a cosmic voyage as the floating synth notes and pulsating rhythm create a trippy combination, perfect for peak-time moments at any party.
