Liro – Yujuuu [Koi Series]

The fifth pressing to arrive from Koi Series features Chilean artist Larry Peters aka Liro alongside Silat Beksi on remix duties. Titled “Yujuuu”, the EP delivers warm minimal sounds elegantly complemented by lush textures and deep arrangements, perfect for both peak-time moments on the dancefloor as well as the afterhours. Functioning as a sublabel for Re.Face Records, so far Koi Series brought forward amazing music signed by Cristi Murar, Core, Peshka and Avidel, with more to come in the near future.

A creator of organic minimalistic sounds with character and personality, DJ and producer Liro is well-known for his releases with Cachai, Tulipe, Robot Ranch, ENSO, Leftback, Raro Music, Whoyostro LTD and Southern Magic, as well as his own label Cumpa Limited, founded back in 2013.

Side A opens with the title track “Yujuuu”, a bright steady-paced composition flavoured with accordion melodies, mysterious vocal samples and various insertions or arrangements that call for a dance. Following, Silat Beksi‘s remix goes full minimal, dropping a twisted sound that maintains subtle aspects of the original layers while adding glitched elements, a solid bassline and a different track progression.

On Side B we first find “No Money” delivering an immersive atmosphere enhanced by reverberating chords, heavily modulated vocals and exotic instruments. As the record spins a hypnotic effect can be felt here which will be transferred to the closing cut “Perdido Cuatro Efe”, a dreamy journey designed with lush effects, bulbous grooves and refreshing vocals. A must-have for collectors and selectors alike.
