Los Bastoneros – Celestial Airwaves EP [Re.Face Limited]
Italian label Re.Face Limited presents its eighth pressing in the form of “Celestial Airwaves EP” signed by Romanian trio Los Bastoneros alongside Sublee on remix duties. Designed with majestic dreamy progressions, tight grooves and emotional synths the 12” counts as yet another great addition to the imprint’s catalogue which so far features artists like Re_Named, Prodot, Nektar Agu, Peshka, Vern, Cerec and Ted Amber. The other two side ventures, Re.Face Digital and Koi Series, also pack a lot of steaming music, with Core’s “Moartea Unui Ego” EP being the latest drop.
Listen to feeder sound 226 mixed by Los Bastoneros in order to keep those summer vibes going:
Emanuel Cristea, Emmanuel Deaconu and András Schmidt are well-known for their activity in the electronic music scene, having numerous performances under their belt shared with emerging and established artists alike. Their debut material “Perspectives EP” came out last year through EverydayParadise while other tracks and edits can be found on their Bandcamp page and Fake Society’s “A Glimpse Beyond” VA.
Side A opens with “Airwaves”, a steady-paced rhythm flavoured with warm textures and evolving pads that create a magical laid-back soundscape set around 124 bpm. The drumming patterns exhibit relentless energy while the subtle piano notes that come in and out of focus from time to time add a melancholic flavour to the journey. Following, “Sincerely” goes funky minimal as the wobbling, prominent bassline leads the other layers into eerie dimensions.
On the flipside we first find “Celestial”, an introspective piece built with a swinging percussive core, deep chords and spacious breakdowns. Sublee‘s remix maintains the emotional feeling while going even deeper into fairytale-like atmospheres. A must-have for any collector or selector right here!
