feeder sound exclusive premiere: Piktor – Up In The Air [Baumbaum Label]

Founded in Berlin in 2011 by brothers William and Tom Herman, Baumbaum Label presents “Second Thoughts EP” delivered by Piktor, a steaming three-tracker designed with groovy basslines, dreamy pads and rolling rhythms. The pressing marks number four in the imprint’s catalogue, following Ztrl, Sublee and Zefzeed.

Born in Romania and now residing in Vienna, Austria, Victor Pavlovschi aka Piktor is well-known for “Acid Space EP” dropped on Lokomotiv and “Senin EP” on Subtil Records, as well as for his vibrant selections as a DJ. In the last few years, he steadily built a career around electronic dance music, playing alongside Barac, Sepp, Nils Weimann, Martin Glowacz, Oana Leca, Lisiere Collectif, Alexandra, Macarie, and many others. In 2018 his mix for feeder sound podcast series was number 1 in our annual TOP 10 with 12.9k plays counting now.

Second Thoughts EP is a dancefloor-oriented material with breezy flavours for a hot summer day embedded into it and we’re more than happy to exclusively premiere A2 titled “Up In The Air”. Listen to the full-length cut on feeder sound:

The track flows at a steady pace with hypnotic, eerie and very catchy textures ever-evolving in the background. The percussion is clear and the variations are building tension while the relaxed rhythm can take you on a blissful daydream. Enjoy the journey!

“Early Afternoon Swing” opens the EP with a deep and engaging sound. The solid percussion is carefully balanced with the bright pads in the background and the glass bottle sounds deliver the clear message that this is made for dancing on a beach. Side B is reserved for “Non Zero Sum Game” a dubby cut infused with reverberating notes and melodies, subtle synth effects and elegant modulations.
