London-based record label, events & artist agency Into The Woods returns with its third vinyl-only release, inviting Argentinian artist Alexis Cabrera to take over the sound for this one. Titled “Serial Light”, the EP delivers three fresh tracks of immense quality and variation, showcasing the depth of Cabrera’s musicality while building on the imprint’s catalogue which so far contains two other releases signed by Sepp and Swoy.
Well-known for his immersive and groovy live sets, Alexis’s unique approach to modern house and techno music always delivers the vibes wherever he performs. Throughout time, his productions have been released via labels like Atipic, Point of View, AMA Recordings, Little Helpers, Savor Music, Epilog, Momentz, Musica Lunar and his own Fun Records, founded in 2015 alongside Barut.
The record opens with “Insatiable”, an uplifting cut designed with warping atmospheres, a solid funky bassline in focus, driving drumming patterns and his own vocals that add extra warmth to the whole journey. Following, “Liturgia” reveals a truly swinging sound, where floating synth melodies, twisted effects and spiralling background textures smoothly merge with the drums, making this cut perfect for peak-time moments at any party.
The B Side reveals the title track “Serial Light”, a syncopated and intricate composition elegantly infused with jazzy chords and vivid piano notes that will make your body move in an instant. The breakbeat also falls into focus as all the layers dive deep into an energetic flow that’s hard to resist.
