Nu Zau – Aurum 002 [Aurum]

Telum’s sister label Aurum returns for the second chapter with three dancefloor weapons signed by Nu Zau. While the venture is well-known for releasing amazing music on vinyl without disclosing who’s behind the production, this time things are different and even the track’s titles are fully revealed. Early support comes from artists like Raresh, Petre Inspirescu, Priku, Cap, SIT, DeWalta, Arapu, Mihai Pol and Lizz, among others.

Definitely one of the most prolific artists in the Romanian minimal scene, Nu Zau has continuously delivered top-quality music throughout time, collaborating with top record labels around the world while also managing his own playgrounds Why So Series, Stowaway and UVAR, alongside Sepp. This material makes no exception from what we’re accustomed to, so let’s dive into the EP and explore the tracks in more detail.

On Side A we find “Break Me”, an electric and uplifting cut that will surely be heard everywhere this summer. The steady-paced rhythm smoothly blends with groovy chords and wobbling effects while the vocal samples and spacious breakdowns are constantly building tension. On the flipside we find the warm swinging vibes of “Everytime” and “R U Ready”, two compositions that elegantly complete one another and provide a breezy minimalistic sound. The ever-evolving dreamy textures and the intricate arrangements of the layers are best fitted for the afterhours, making this record a must-have for electronic music lovers, collectors and selectors worldwide.
