Brooklyn-based imprint Beats On Time returns to its digital playground with a remix package associated with the venture’s BOT002 released earlier this year by label head Saqib in collaboration with Mau Pino titled “Me Mira”. While the initial EP invited Sam Jaspersohn to deliver his own reinterpretation of the original track, this time we see Lost Boy, Fabian Weitz and Sven Jaeger taking on remix duties with style.
Saqib got his start in the electronic music industry when he moved to New York in 2013 and became the first resident DJ for Members Only. This was timed with his first release on Audiofly’s Flying Circus via a compilation curated by Blond:ish. He cut his teeth playing records week in and week out sharing the decks with some of the biggest names in the industry including Lee Burridge, Bedouin, Dixon and Seth Troxler while dispatching some of his own productions via labels like Abracadabra, Maccabi House, Lump Records, Variety Music, LW Recordings, CUE Music and Voltaire.
Mau Pino is a DJ and producer from Caracas living in Miami with over 12 years of experience in curating music events, playing alongside renowned artists such as Soul Clap, Osunlade, Holographic, Ultra Nate and Felix da Housecat, to mention a few. She also contributes to the Miami underground electronic music community by managing events such as Twist of Fate, Visionere and Tribu, bringing music, art, dance and wellness together as a full uplifting experience for the people.
While the original take on “Me Mira” drops a steaming combination of microhouse, tech house and electro, our featured exclusive premiere for today delivers an uplifting reinterpretation from German artist Fabien Weitz and CUE Music’s head chef Sven Jaeger who surely deliver a smooth and inspiring sound, carefully crafted with house and funky elements, ready to take any party by storm at any given moment.
Lost Boy and Sam Jaspersohn‘s remixes are equally engaging, exploring deep tech and tech house to the full, while making a statement about how minor changes to the original layers can make a difference in genres. No doubt, everything is made for the dancefloor, so better put on your dancing shoes!
