After a short hiatus, Romanian record label Stomping Grounds returns with an amazing EP titled “96 No Escapes” signed by Tommy Vicari Jnr aka V.I.C.A.R.I., a talented DJ and producer who’s been making waves in the electronic music scene for quite some time now. The record surely adds even more magic to the label’s catalogue which so far featured inspiring music from Och, Vid as Egal 3, S.A.M., Vlad Radu, Crihan under his Discret Popescu moniker, Noah Skelton, Heerd, Dragos Ilici, Stav and label head Jay Bliss.

Well-known for his prolific output and attention to detail, Sheffield-based Vicari has already released numerous materials, showcasing his diverse range of styles and skill at crafting captivating tracks. Using his name or aliases like Czevski, General Vex, Iraciv or Vibration White Finger he collaborated with labels such as Hearth Records, Patterns of London, Quality Vibe Records, Rockets Audio, Vanity, Tervisio, 320KB Music, Robsoul Recordings, Parang, OGE, Parliamnt, Soundrive Music, Saure and Bar Musica, to name only a few.

Powered by an addictive groove and a solid wobbling bassline “Singular Dub” smoothly blends elements of house and dub music in order to bring forward a spicy dancefloor tool that definitely fits the summer mood. The relentless drive of the rhythm and the raw chords elegantly merge with the subtle arrangements making this cut perfect for the dancefloor.

The other tracks are equally stunning with “Noescapes” and “Oceanoffuc” going for a mellow sound without losing energy in any way as the deep house influences are carefully combined with punchy percussion patterns and deep background textures while “Kayy” switches gears and drops a rather experimental vibe designed with hard cut jazzy samples and alluring broken beats.
