Cezar Lazăr – Atipic 017 [Atipic]
The next chapter in Atipic‘s main vinyl-only series welcomes influential local artist Cezar Lazăr with three solid untitled minimal cuts smoothly flavored with dubby and experimental influences. It’s definitely nice to see another record (and most likely the last) being released this year by Priku‘s iconic label, after Costin Rp and Ardb‘s EPs and Mihai Pol on Atipic Lab Series.
A multifaceted artist and entrepreneur in the electronic music industry, Cezar Lazăr is well-known in the international underground movement as one of the veterans of the minimal and microhouse genres in Romania. Founder of Understand, a trailblazing imprint renowned for pushing the boundaries of electronic music and co-founder of OurOwn vinyl distribution platform based in Bucharest, he always loves to deliver memorable sonic experiences whether we talk about his own productions, DJ sets or sound engineering skills. This EP makes no exception!

Side A offers a lush atmospheric track powered by twisted broken beats and eerie reverberations infused with warm and melancholic background textures, shuffling hi-hats and a steady-paced progression that becomes more and more immersive with each second.
On the flipside, B1 picks up the pace and drops a hypnotic sound designed with trembling drumming patterns, mysterious samples and dark tones perfect for intense night selections while B2 explores the experimental side of minimal, bringing into focus stripped-back patterns and wobbling synth stabs that form the groove.
