feeder sound exclusive premiere: Estmode – Goodbye my friend [Vidre Hand Craft Series]

Italian duo Ermir Zotaj and Simone Papi aka Estmode returns to their Hand Craft Series on Vidre with the 9th instalment in this unique series, laying out two steaming cuts designed with different grooves yet surprisingly inspiring samples. Having the vinyl cover manually painted, the record will soon arrive in selected record stores worldwide in a limited number of copies.

After years of research, experimenting and playing with sound, the Estmode project was born in 2014, bringing forward dark atmospheres, deep sounds and groovy minimal rhythms. With a strong love for modulars, synths and analog drum machines at the core and a burning passion for abstract sounds, the duo delivered some of their works through labels like Vara Records, Bordei, Ukiyo, Morchelle Music and their own playground Vidre.

Side A delivers the deep and driving arrangements of “Goodbye My Friend”, an immersive composition smoothly flavoured with melancholic chords, wobbling textures and a solid bassline. The rotation of all the layers creates an organic track progression with spacious breathing moments carefully inserted between the pulsating drumming patterns. The track is dedicated to a friend who recently passed away.

On Side B we find “Sampler 1”, a steady-paced cut with an electro twist that includes samples from Depeche Mode’s “Policy of Truth” released back in 1990. Here the focus falls on the synth stabs, the vocals and the percussion which generate a groovy minimal affair perfect for the dancefloor.
