Local DJ and producer Petre Valentin aka Lizz returns to his official Bandcamp page with his 14th digital release entitled “Hardcore Slide” exhibiting 7 fresh tracks that explore a different kind of music we’re usually accustomed to receiving from his side. Blending ambient, trip-hop, hip-hop and subtle IDM elements, this LP dives deep into intricate rhythms and atmospheres, delivering an immersive sound perfect for eclectic selections or laid-back afternoon sessions.
Well-known for his releases with Eastenderz, Playedby, Windmuhle, Melodrom, Acme, Why So Series, Atipic, UVAR, Rawax, Gettraum and Hashplant as well as for his numerous independent publishings, Lizz is an established artist with constant activity in both local and international electronic music scenes. Get ready for some serious grooves here! “Koma2” opens the album with an immersive grainy soundscape that definitely tells us this whole journey is going to be something else. Following, the title track “Hardcore Slide” dives deep into the concept and drops a solid hip-hop beat smoothly complemented by trippy effects, carefully placed breakdowns and highly modulated vocal samples that will easily make anyone drift in seconds.
“Snapp” continues the descent while “Step Into The Project” switches gears and lays out a chilled and melancholic sound powered by subtle and inspiring messages. Next up, “Funky Slice” and “Dirt” use a clever combination of broken beats and alluring background textures in order to create meandering stories while the outro “Undercore1” goes fully experimental, completing the LP with style.
