feeder sound exclusive premiere: Do.e – Too Soon [Level Records]
UK-based imprint Level Records presents “Torez Street” EP signed by Jake Dewey aka Do.e alongside Ray Mono on remix duties. The material features three original cuts, designed with deep and uplifting house influences, perfect for peak time moments as well as for the afterparty. Level showcases handpicked artists around the UK that deliver that minimalistic groove we all love, with a core passion for house music.
Hailing from Cambridge, Jake’s musical journey as a DJ started almost ten years ago while producing his own thing took him about half of that period. His works have been published by labels like Whoyostro LTD, Music Related and ANIMA, while his adventures behind the decks include numerous gigs in clubs and open-air venues across the UK. For this EP he invites Leeds’ Mono_Cult head figure Ray Mono to join in with a remix, thus packing a sweet release for a rising label as well as adding another groovy material to his personal discography.
You can tell from the beginning that this cut is going to put you in a dancing mood, especially when the bassline kicks in. From there on you’re expected on the dancefloor! But wait, there’s more. The first breakdown introduces numerous elements that make the track go into a deep dimension flavoured by melancholic chords and heavy-modulated vocal samples here and there. The tempo mantains the energy while the background textures can make your mind drift in an instant. The arp-infused “El Loco” and the exotic stripped-down arrangements of “The Captain” are equally enjoyable so we invite you to discover them for yourself and grab your copy of Torez Street EP from Beatport.
