r.hitect presents three fresh tracks on his latest “corbusian EP”, marking the fourth vinyl-only instalment to soon be released on his eponymous imprint. Just like we’re accustomed to, the 12” is designed with a futuristic approach to minimal techno with the sound being infused with elegant progressive arrangements and carefully crafted melodies and background textures. Named after the famous architect Le Corbusier who’s one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture, this material promises to inspire and to deliver something new.

Since 2018 when we were first introduced to the r.hitect‘s forward-thinking music with “masterplan EP“, the artist made sure to showcase his unique fingerprint sound in a mysterious way, raising tension and making people wondering about who he is. With only a few live appearances behind the decks, he slowly built a name for himself while collaborating with Barac and Remus in order to bring forward exquisite tracks for his label, as well as for Moment Records. His latest adventures also include a remix for Salmanazar on his Objects EP released through Joule Imprint, a sublabel of the Parisian imprint Yoyaku.

Opening Side A we find the title track “Corbusian”, a steady-paced composition infused with melodic synth notes and spacious build-ups. The smooth and silky groove provides a dreamy sensation throughout the track while the hi-hats offer dynamic variations to the percussive elements. Following, “Belvedere” stands out with its funky bassline and exotic micropatterns that create an electric vibration and call for dancing. The background atmospheres will definitely make you think about the waves hitting the rocks on a secluded shoreline. Side B is reserved for “There Is No Plan B”, a complex track that crosses the boundaries set by the genres. Here, the progressive nature of the sounds is powered by psytrance like leads and riffs, vivid bassline shifts, epic bright pads and playful effects.
