VNTM LIVE – Top 5 city tips – Amsterdam
With an ability to build a spectrum of moods, spanning through dark underground techno with a contemporary twist it is no wonder that VNTM is set for a successful 2019. All the signs are there for the Dutch live performer. Compiling one release after another and the high profile gigs knocking at his door.
Most recently the raw talent release on ‘Weiter’ with his remix of ‘Sisters car’ and he has a fantastic release on GEM Records which will be on it’s way to a dance floor near you soon. A busy summer ahead for VNTM touching down at many festivals such as Strafwerk, Tomorrowland and Mystic Garden Festival.
We managed to fit in a quick discussion about his top Amsterdam tips. Check them out:
Cafe DS
“This is one of the places where I grab lunch very often, when I make music during the day, it’s just a 3 minute walk from the studio and it’s always nice to sit in the garden there.
They pay a lot of attention to their menu by choosing local natural products, and it’s a very nice and calm place opposed to the busy surroundings”.

Mary Go Wild
“This is my favourite record store where some of my friends work, I’m doing a 3 monthly radio show there in the basement and there is always a very nice vibe with the crew.
During ADE they host basement raves and although its a small venue they book some of the biggest names from the scene during that week.”
Cannibale Royale
“If you are a sucker for meat and like a big steak or some very nice spareribs, this is the place to go. It’s a very nice and cosy place to go to, and the food never dissapoints.
The whole restaurant is dressed up with props and pictures of cannibalistic behaviour and tools to cut meat with, (doesn’t sound to good right?) but it’s fun!”
Westerpark
“If I go for a morning run, or want to relax in a park on a sunny day I often go to the Wester Park because it’s just a few minutes from my home. It’s a huge park so there is always enough room to hang out, and it’s also the where the Gashouder is situated and that venue is cool to see even from the outside.”

De Marktkantine
“This has to be my favourite club right now, I already played there 3 times this year and it never dissapoints.
They book big headliners like Tale Of Us and Carl Cox, but there is always room for local talent to fill the rest of the spots during the night. There is an amazing soundsystem in the main room, and I always feel very welcome in the club because of the great ambiance. Should definitely be on your list if you visit Amsterdam for a week!”
