feeder sound exclusive premiere: TRK – The Science Of Sleep [Sang Out Of Tune]

TRK aka The Rabbit King is well-known for his intense activity in the Romanian electronic dance music scene, being a part of the first generation of DJs from Bucharest. Under the Charlie Boy alias, he performed numerous vibrant sets in a lot of clubs, meeting many artists and promoters. From Golan to Nopame, Sunwaves to Electric Castle, Control Club to Kristal Club you surely have seen him doing his thang. It was natural for him to establish Sang Out Of Tune as a personal musical playground and invite friends and talented producers to drop amazing releases. Amongst the names who contributed to the catalogue so far, we find Vlad Dinu, Victor Stancov, Vlad Bretan, Chemars, Cojoc, Alex Rusu and The Model. No Genre Drama.

The seventh instalment coming from the label is delivered by the founder and curator himself and brings forward a delightful blend of house and electro rhythms, crossing the barrier set by genres. Titled “The Cinematic EP”, the release unfolds three fresh and very groovy tracks to set you up in a deep state of mind. From the voice samples by Bill Murray, Chow Mo-wan and Gael Garcia Bernal, you can clearly tell that this EP is an act of visual inspiration for him. Time to move your body and listen to the full-length track “The Science Of Sleep” exclusively on feeder sound:

With a sample from the quirky 2006 French film “The Science Of Sleep” directed by Michel Gondry at its core, the cut provides all the ingredients for a surreal dancefloor shaker. A playful wobbling bassline and a breakbeat infused percussion lead the rhythm while reverberating electric synths and pads evolve in the background. Alluring and energetic, the sounds will take you into a hazy dimension, just like the movie does to its watchers.

“A Rabbit As Kling Of The Ghosts” reveals as an introspective composition, with flavours of deep house embedded in it while having an off-the-grid percussion. The dreamy feeling is also present on “In The Mood For Love”, where the beat offers even more possibilities and the textures keep evolving into complex arrangements. There’s an electro vibe fused in the production, a fingerprint from the artists, reminding us of that specific colourful mosaic of styles he always delivers with his music.
