The third vinyl pressing coming from Modvlar features three fresh cuts signed by Iuly.B and a steaming remix from Nobodi. Titled “Crystal Cave”, the EP totally reflects the artist’s cutting, hypnotic and percussive style as well as his talent and attention to detail, so expect a unique sonic journey perfectly suited for the dancefloor and for peak-time DJ sets. Co-founded by Dragosh back in 2019, the label so far delivered an inspiring Various Artists compilation as its first release and another EP from Valentino Kanzyani.

Iasi-based artist Iuly.B has literally been riding on top of the waves over the last few years. Known for crystal clear yet bold rhythmic patterns, the young producer drops energetic and varied DJ sets wherever he performs, making the dancefloor breathe deep and hypnotic minimal grooves all the time. Throughout time he collaborated with labels like Moral Fiber, Rora, Savor Music, Visionquest, Infuse, Vatos Locos, Vuew, Mulen, Subtil and Metereze while last year he launched his own venture Top Cut Records.

The 12″ opens with the title track “Crystal Cave”, laying out an uplifting minimal sound powered by wobbling synth melodies, reverberating effects, spiralling bells and potent drumming patterns that help create tension on each occasion the background textures come in and out of focus. Following, “Vital Expansion” switches gears and delivers a deeper experience, washed in dubby atmospheres and immersive chords elegantly flavoured with spacious breakdowns and swinging basslines.

On the flipside, “Traffic Jam” drops a solid tech banger with its pumping drums and perfectly aligned electric synth stabs, marking this cut as a special treat for the dancefloor in the middle of the night while the Italian DJ and producer Nobodi closes the EP with a swinging reinterpretation that combines funky and hypnotic insertions all across the spectrum, cooling the atmosphere while maintaining the drive.
