Jack Realist & James Large – “Let You Go” EP [Ciclé Records]

Jack Realist is an up-and-coming producer from the UK whose stripped-back style of house has been taking dance floors by storm, and he starts 2024 by collaborating with fellow UK artist James Large.

Let You Go” is a two-track EP that Jack Realist and James Large have produced for Ciclé Records, and both tracks fuse a moody atmosphere with hypnotic flow.

Based in Portsmouth, Jack Realist has been building momentum for the last few years. Not only has he released via his record label Realism93, but he has also contributed tracks and remixes to other imprints, including Uncut, Techords and Ohana Music.

James Large is a DJ who is transitioning into music production with this release, and his collaboration with Jack Realist shows a high calibre of studio talent.

First up is the EP’s title track “Let You Go”, which has broken kick drum rhythms that add an upbeat skip to the groove, while hypnotic textures create a mesmerising atmosphere that’s full of building tension.

Airplane Mode” focuses on a four-to-the-floor kick drum pattern that’s augmented with snare rolls, shuffling hi-hats, and murky textures, that add to the track’s submerged style.
