The 4th instalment brought forward by CVO‘s record label PAULUM. presents four fresh tracks signed by Hungarian artist Solus in the form of “Terrestrial EP”. The material evokes the terrestrial planets of our Solar System, following their proper order and creating an even, compact sound throughout the entire record. The mastering was made by Tripmastaz at TripMastering studio in Berlin.

With this 4-tracker, Budapest-based DJ and producer Solus marks his transition from his former ZKY alias with style, aiming to deliver inspiring electronic music with a renewed vision. Known for his releases with Micronica, Revous, Two Tone, Buta Records, Mandorla, PhonicHouse1 Records, UZVAR Recordings and his own playground Saver Records, he definitely brings creative input to the international minimal techno and microhouse scene so expect only top-quality music from his side.

“With the Terrestrial EP, I was trying to give each planet its own sound, based on their characteristics. All of these planets have a solid surface so I was aiming for a rock-solid drum groove with some synths to soften the sound up here and there. It was no exception with Mars, which is also called the “Red Planet”. This planet has violent dust storms and sometimes the temperature drops to -100 °C, that’s why the track has this windy and cold vibe.”

Closing the EP, “Mars” reveals a steady-paced rhythm elegantly combined with spacious atmospheres and breakdowns that explore the desolation and otherworldly beauty of the fourth planet from the Sun. Feelings like wonder and solitude permeate through the frequencies, making this cut perfect for the afterhours or laid-back afternoon sessions.

“This record could come from planet Earth, or perhaps from a similar one? Lets go into space and wave into the trippy areas of minimal deep house. Be excited to hear the diverse sounds and creative approach of Solus in his new alter ego.”

The other tracks are equally engaging and provide an uplifting sonic journey that catches glimpses of how Mercury, Venus and Earth can be represented through harmonic minimal sounds. From the beats’ mechanical precision to meandering pads and organic arrangements, the artist smoothly lays out this cosmic affair through introspection and bliss, creating a unique perspective on the inner Solar System.
