Description
Roper – “Study of letters”, marker on 42 x 30 cm 300 g/m2 paper (50 x 50 cm with frame) 2023
We are happy to present an intriguing paper painting by the graffiti artist Roper, that transcends the conventional boundaries of urban art, offering a mesmerising exploration of anti-style and letterform innovation on a unique canvas – paper.
At the heart of the composition is the name “Roper,” defiantly rendered in anti-style aesthetics. The letters, a captivating dance of rebellion and individuality, boast a vibrant palette of colours—blue, brown, red, and yellow. Each letter takes on a unique identity, contributing to the overall kaleidoscopic effect that characterises Roper’s distinctive style.
The letters themselves are a celebration of dynamism and contrast. Sharp edges and jumbled forms coalesce, creating a visual language that is both chaotic and harmonious. Roper‘s mastery is evident in his ability to balance precision with rebellion, resulting in letters that seem to move and pulse with energy.
Strategically placed arrows guide the viewer through the intricate tapestry of letters, adding a dynamic element to the composition. The arrows, rendered in the same vibrant hues, create a sense of direction and movement as if navigating the twists and turns of an urban landscape.
Roper created a limited series of 15 works, titled “Study of letters”. The technique used was an alcohol marker on paper, which means that even though we are talking about a series, each 42 x 30 cm is unique.
feeder.ro/shop is excited to offer three works from this series for your consideration. View the other two works, here:
