Popescu – The foolish
A3 digital print, framed by the artist, 40 x 50 cm black frame*
This framed print by Popescu bursts with manic energy and dark humor, blending comic-book exaggeration with street-art irreverence. Two grotesque, wide-grinning characters mirror each other in a frenetic dance, their bodies tangled by arrows, motion lines, and visual noise. They feel part trickster, part anti-hero—figures caught in a loop of movement, impulse, and excess. Rendered in Popescu’s unmistakable style – thick outlines, dense textures, and aggressively vibrant colors – the composition leans into chaos without losing control. Sneakers, arrows, animals, and surreal body details collide, evoking references to comics, skate culture, graffiti, and pop mythology without locking into a single narrative. The title The Foolish reads less as judgment and more as a declaration: a celebration of reckless energy, instinct, and joyful stupidity.
