LIVING UNITS @ GO ART PROJECTS

Living Units @ Go art Projects Bucharest 15.09.2016 feeder

Go Art Projects is pleased to invite you on Thursday, September 15, 7 pm, 10 Semicercului St. at the opening of the international group exhibition Living Units, On Self, on the Other and on Other Stories.

Living Units, On Self, on the Other and on Other Stories is an international touring art exhibition and a trans-cultural project aiming at raising the sheer value of humanity against racism, fear of the other, stereo-types and prejudices in general. Living Units is a series of art projects beginning this year.

Curated by Lina Osama, the exhibition shows art by eight international artists from Austria, Egypt and Romania. Beat Lehner, Eman Osama, Iulia Morcov, Lina Osama, Markus Proschek, Mhanny Yaoud, Michael Heindl and Osama Moneim are all exploring the possibility of living as an equal unit in the entity of humanity through their art in Living Units. Markus and Iulia examine areas of personal trauma using elements of nature and history while Mhanny explores the notion of units of neighbourhood and the formation and disintegration of their boundaries. Eman uses her painted figures to present questions about gender identity, while Osama’s and Michael’s projects provide an almost three dimensional identity unit of the urban environment. Beat’s work fosters the literal over the metaphoric and Lina’s art is all about the celebration of life force in the light of topics like pregnancy, birth and family gatherings.
