EU-RO Alternativ @ Fantom Gallery Berlin with Rone, Andreea Cel Mare & Dan Nica
The exhibition EU-RO ALTERNATIV takes you through contemporary Romania, as it is seen today by three visual artists from an alternative perspective, through their exploring processes in fine arts. Their snapshot on the society, marked by the complex transformation of 30 years of post-communist transition, launches the interrogation about the present identity.
The collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989 gave birth to a new collective mentality, a new perception of the present and the future, an “alter-ethos” that still raises questions. The three Romanian artists will share in our gallery their visions of another Romania, a universe whose energy hooks the art lovers in the process of questioning or remembering.
Berlin was a choice for exhibiting as it is the symbol of New Europe, the starting point of the political, social and cultural changes, the origin of the transformation in the Eastern countries, but also the catalyst for further metamorphosis.
