The 8th vinyl-only release from Euphoric State features three immersive originals signed by DJ and producer Reformed Society and a vibrant remix by local artist Cristi Cons. Titled “Ghosts of Azerbaijan”, the record delves into a vibrant combination of minimal, breakbeat and tech house where deep rhythms and textures elegantly merge with exotic instruments, gliding from enveloping atmospheres to dancefloor-ready sounds.

With more than 25 years behind the decks and a life shaped by experiences across five countries, including a pivotal eight-year chapter in London, Harsh Puri aka Reformed Society is now based in Barcelona. Known for his eclectic style and expansive musical palette, he moves effortlessly between house, techno and leftfield sounds, delivering sets that are both dynamic and meticulously curated. During his time in the UK, he founded and led the Play and Downplay party series while holding a residency at Jaded/Corsica Studios. For him, studio time is equally important, having released memorable titles via labels like Basic Moves, Bons Records, Lirica Archives, Dolly, Superb Recordings, Made Of Concrete, What Ever Not, Dred Records, Mosaic, O.C.D. and Funnuvojere Records.

While the original “Dagda’s Harp” delivers a resonant and introspective vibe designed with intricate melodic sequences and minimalistic arrangements that blend a steady-paced beat with meandering chords, Cristi Cons takes it even further with his remix, laying out a club-ready tool powered by shuffling drumming patterns, wavy synth textures and subtle vocal cuts that add an extra layer of mystery to the whole journey, closing the EP with style.

On Side A we have the title track “Ghosts of Azerbaijan” opening the record with a groovy and ever-evolving atmosphere that brings exotic motifs to the table that display a dance of light and shadows through the frequencies, while “Celestial Horizons” dives deeper into breakbeat and IDM, laying out a cerebral sound, perfect for immersive moments.

Managed by Tam Fallan and Jorge Escribano, Euphoric State operates as a sub-label of Opia Records, focused on bringing forward top-quality electronic music. The discography includes works from A², Stopouts, Dan Piu, Relative Progress, Anthony Teasdale, Skat, Tape Hiss and PersistentRain.
