MixCult Records announces yet another Various Artists compilation to arrive soon on its main vinyl series, this time featuring Stephano Franca, Dot, Reenday, Nicolas Barnes and Jeronimo Watson at the controls. Titled “Phase Drift. Passage”, the record offers four tracks that move between moods and textures with surgical control and quiet sophistication, unfolding a graceful and emotionally nuanced journey rooted in deep tech house and flavoured with dub and minimal aesthetics.

Currently based in Montenegro and curated by Kirill Matveev, MixCult Records has been around for almost a decade, always delivering top-quality electronic music from rising and established artists alike in both digital and vinyl formats. The venture also operates as a radio station with weekly shows on Evosonic Radio (DE) while it constantly expands into the underground culture through multiple sublabels.

Side A opens with Stephano Franca‘s “Arriving”, a fluid, introspective piece designed with steady-paced drumming patterns and a warm background atmosphere that glides with cinematic poise, drawing listeners into a state of suspended reflection. Following, “Distance Call” by Dot introduces an earthy and grounded percussive undercurrent, energising the space while maintaining depth and groove.

On the flipside we first find Nicolas Barnes on the remix for Reenday‘s “Last Call”, a vibrant composition that evokes distance and stillness through its dubby and atmospheric arrangements, while “On The Prowl” by Jeronimo Watson brings the VA to a confident and composed closing, laying out a seductive, slow-burning sound built with stripped-back drums and reverberating chords.

“Phase Drift. Passage” is not just a collection of tracks, it’s a refined toolkit for navigating emotional shifts and dancefloor narratives, framed by elegance and intention as it perfectly balances warmth and restraint, melancholy and motion.
