DJ Caspa – Parallel Groove 005 [Intr0beatz]
After a two-year pause, DJ Caspa re-emerges with a refined and deeply personal contribution to the Intr0beatz Parallel Groove podcast series — a mix that feels less like a comeback and more like a quiet reaffirmation of purpose.
Parallel Groove 005: A Return to Form
For the fifth instalment of the series, Caspa delivers a fluid session rooted in deep house, subtle groove mechanics and understated emotion. It’s a mix built on patience and flow — no dramatic peaks, no forced drops — just carefully layered textures and soulful low-end movements that unfold naturally over time.
Having spent more than 25 years navigating the UK underground, Caspa’s relationship with music runs deep. Raised in East London during the formative rave years of the early ’90s, his education came via record shops, pirate radio culture and the early warehouse party circuit. Appearances on stations such as Rinse FM and other influential platforms helped shape his understanding of broadcasting as a craft — not just playing records, but curating moments.
Beyond radio, he carved out space in London’s club ecosystem through residencies including Pacha Presents, Percolate and Funkatron, while also holding down regular sessions in Manchester. His long-running online project, The Underground Sessions, further demonstrated his commitment to platforming emerging artists, inviting lesser-known producers to host and share their sound — an ethos that continues to define his work today.
Recovery, Reflection, Renewal
Over the past two years, Caspa stepped back from music to focus on recovering from a serious illness. The break inevitably reshaped perspectives. Now fully recovered, his return feels intentional — grounded in gratitude and clarity.
Parallel Groove 005 reflects that state of mind. Much of the material featured is unreleased, reinforcing the forward-facing spirit of the mix. Originals and collaborations with Intr0beatz sit alongside tracks from Marlon George, Retromigration, Scruscru and K., forming a cohesive narrative that leans into warm basslines, crisp percussion and late-night atmospheres.
There’s a quiet confidence throughout — the sound of someone who doesn’t need to prove anything, only to express.
In an era often driven by speed and visibility, DJ Caspa’s latest contribution stands as a reminder that depth, patience and authenticity still resonate strongest on the dancefloor.
