After a short hiatus, Romanian record label Eliptic returns with its 8th vinyl release in the form of “Inglourious EP” signed by local DJ and producer Roban. The three original cuts are complemented by a special remix delivered by Rhadoo under his Nea Marin moniker, bringing a lush feel to the EP with his unique vision and memorable vibe.

Dragos Roban, known simply as Roban, steps forward with his solo vinyl debut following several independent digital releases on Bandcamp as well as standout titles on labels such as Playedby, PRDS Direct, Mezin and Soblazn Music. He’s also half of Two Metromaniac Guys alongside Andu Simion, with the duo recently revealing their collaborative project via Caillou’s imprint Chateau Chepere.

Founded in 2016 and based in Bucharest, Eliptic Records set sail with label heads Julian and Fengda Carissa setting the tone with “Nothing But…” EP, followed by timeless releases from the likes of Gias, Timofti, Crihan, Diogo, Mihigh and ZXC.

Side A opens with “Overcome” unfolding a mysterious, meditative atmosphere driven by a hypnotic flow of shuffling percussive elements, reverberating textures and delicate bell patterns. At its core, a commanding bassline takes center stage, gliding effortlessly across the frequency spectrum with poise and purpose. Following, the title track “Inglourious” sticks to the introspective mood while injecting more playful rhythms and late-night motifs. Its uplifting drive adds bounce and momentum, balancing the groove with the subtle details of the arrangement.

On the flip, Rhadoo reshapes the original’s intense dynamics into a filtered swirl of dubby textures and pulsating rhythms, crafting a thundering yet immersive sonic journey tinged with subtle nostalgia, while “Stolo Signs” closes the 12″ with a slow-burning sound, constantly building tension through weaving psychedelic oscillations carefully paired with steady-paced drums and a finely modulated bassline.
