Germany-based electronic Brazilian duo Claxy return with Underwater, a deeply personal and rhythm-driven single that reconnects them with their Brazilian roots while expanding their global, club-ready sound.

Written over nearly four years, Underwater evolved alongside the duo themselves. The defining moment came when Clara Valente introduced a new section sung in Portuguese. That addition unlocked the song’s final form: a Brazilian groove infused with Maculelê-inspired rhythms, funk-leaning percussion, and Claxy’s signature melancholic yet warm electronic textures.

Lyrically and emotionally, Underwater explores moments when freedom of expression is subtly interrupted: when judgment, envy, or discomfort disrupts a state of flow. The track begins immersed in movement and presence, before shifting into resistance. The Portuguese section marks this transition: a reclaiming of the body, rhythm, and the right to exist freely.
