The first volume in a special series focused on Andu Simion‘s recent and previously unreleased works is brought forward by Berlin-based record label System Error, showcasing an inspiring collection of four delicate and deeply felt grooves signed by the Romanian artist. The artwork is provided by S/E-Studio and the mastering by Analogcut.

With several sublabels and special series associated, System Error explores electronic music in its vast diversity, publishing amazing titles rooted in a variety of genres flavoured with driving rhythms and immersive soundscapes alike. Andu Simion joins the roster, after recent releases on DRG Limited, Moods & Grooves, Howl Records (w. Vlad Arapasu), UNS Records (w. Unisson) and Tzinah (remix for Tobias Laun), keeping himself on a creative flow by adding more sound delights to his official discography.

Andu Simion describes the series as “A clear, introspective survey of the work developed over recent years. An exploration from darker, more restrained territories, to compositions shaped with lighter character.”

“Aquarius Arp” opens the EP and quickly sets the tone and the distinct sound of Vol. 1, laying out a moving and hypnotic arpeggio that weaves delicate melodies which gently float over the shuffling downtempo beats and bursting low-end.

Following, “Running Fast” introduces a house-infused groove to the table, spiced with a throbbling funky bassline and warm background textures, while “Stop and Panic” draws to breakbeat and electro, keeping a steady-paced tempo as the narrative unravels. “Acid Astral” dives into deep minimal and twisted electronica, unleashing a spiralling psychedelic flow of pulsating frequencies that can make anyone start dancing in seconds.
