f: Hi Red, it’s a pleasure to chat with you today. How are you?
Red Weeller: Nice to meet you as well. I’m good, thanks!
f: Please tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from and how you started making dance music?
Red Weeller: I’m a Greek-based DJ and Producer. I’ve been DJing since 2010, a little after high school, but I have been involved with music since the age of 15, when I started to take my first guitar lessons. I started experimenting with house music production around 2014 as I wanted to write my own path in this industry and make people dance to my songs, as I did with others as a DJ. Shortly after my first EP was released in 2015, later bigger labels signed my music like Repopulate Mars, Issues, NONSTOP, Flashmob and now the mighty Circus Recordings.
f: Who did you listen to growing up and do they influence your music career at all today?
Red Weeller: I started my journey in house music with the influences of Seth Troxler, Dennis Ferrer, Phil Weeks, MJ Cole, Jamie Jones, Steve Lawler and Green Velvet, etc. It was a variety of house music and all its sub-genres fitted a variety of moments and moods, and it still does today.
f: How would you describe your sound?
Red Weeller: I believe that after years of constantly evolving and experimenting with my tastes, my sound belongs somewhere in the middle of Deep and Tech House, with a modern twist.
f: What was your first release?
Red Weeller: My first release was ‘Unique’ EP on a good friend of mine’s label, Music Evolution Records. It had a remix from George Tsilipakos, with whom I later became really good friends, and we still DJ a lot together, and have shared a DJ residency in our hometown for the last 3 years.
f: Which of your own tracks was the biggest labour of love to create / personal favourite?
Red Weeller: To be honest, I love all my productions and each track has its own story of when and how it was created. For example, I produced one EP on a Greek Island sitting on my balcony, I created another with a friend of mine that lives 400km away, which was also fun with the back and forth between us. But I can definitely say that I invested the most love and passion into my new EP for Circus Recordings, because ‘Flow State’, although it was created in just two hours by dropping sounds on my DAW, everything clicked right away. And ‘Body & Mind’ was created really with a passion, as I had the vocals first, and I was aiming for a calming mood setting vibe that really worked.
f: And your most successful release?
Red Weeller: So far, it’s my ‘Pop Star’ release on NONSTOP, as it gathered crazy feedback and plays from the likes of Mau P, Francisco Allendes, Nasser Baker and many more.
f: You’ve just released your new ‘Body & Mind’ EP on Circus Recordings. What can we expect to hear?
Red Weeller: On ‘Body & Mind’, you’d expect more of a calming vibe, setting you in a mood to start your journey on a DJ set or generally anywhere. It’s got corresponding dreamy synths and, of course, a pumping bassline. ‘Flow State’ is more of a peak time track with obvious UKG-influenced bass, hard-hitting drums and intense synths, as well as a stunning male vocal. In short, ‘Body & Mind’ will set you in the mood, but ‘Flow State’ will make your head explode when the drop comes in.
f: Are you pleased with the results?
Red Weeller: I’m extremely pleased with the result on both tracks, and I’m looking forward to seeing reactions and feedback. I have to thank my sound engineer for delivering on these two!
f: What’s your favourite piece of studio kit?
Red Weeller: Probably my monitors! Hahaha!
f: What’s been your favourite gig of the year and where are you most looking forward to performing soon?
Red Weeller: I played a few months ago on Greece’s Carnival day organized by the club where I’m a resident DJ in my hometown in front of about 2K people and the feeling was unreal. I’m really looking forward to playing Ibiza soon and, of course, the UK, as I have various favourite venues in both places!
f: What has been your biggest triumph and your biggest challenge so far?
Red Weeller: My biggest triumph so far was the moment when I received news that DJs like Roger Sanchez, Francisco Allendes, Mau P and others were supporting my music. And the biggest challenge was the task of contacting major labels and getting them to listen to my music.
f: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for 2026?
Red Weeller: Sure! Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger! 😉
f: Which dance track holds the most precious memories for you?
Red Weeller: There are so many tracks that bring out individual memories, but any time I hear Axwell’s ‘Watch The Sunrise’, I can close my eyes and feel the joy in the moment and embrace the feeling.
f: Who are your top 3 current producers?
Red Weeller: Chris Stussy, Sidney Charles and Prospa.
f: What else are you working on at the moment that you can tell us about?
Red Weeller: I’m working on more music, finishing a lot of tracks that I want to release, and I’m also rebuilding my studio.
‘Body & Mind’ EP is out now on Circus Recordings.
