Zürich-based record label altēr:altēr drops its 5th vinyl-only title featuring Jerome.c at the controls, delivering a captivating collection of four tracks that captures the essence of minimalism, while inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a rich landscape of nuanced textures and hypnotic rhythms, designed for late-night dancefloor sessions.

Hailing from Belgium, Jerome.c has been involved in several underground projects for more than a decade, focusing on production, remixes and DJ sets rooted in minimal techno and microhouse. Among the labels he collaborated with, we find Blind Vision Dubs, Abartik, Sleepless Musik, Hund Records, Third Wave Black, Lowroom Recordings, AnaloQ Musik and Leone Music.

Well-known for the limited and collectable vinyl releases, altēr:altēr showcases twisted EPs signed by Zefzeed, Zenk, Stekke & Lowris and a memorable VA featuring RQZ, Nomen, Atef and Ragan.

Released under its catalogue number, the record delivers a solid dose of pure minimal grooves, perfect for the dancefloor, as all cuts flow into each other with an organic resonance. “Diggin’ In Da Club” opens the EP and sets the tone, revealing the intense yet stripped-back sound design we’ll hear here. The track provides a gloomy sense of mystery throughout, while the arrangement steadily builds tension for “Giada”, where swinging drums blend with hazy vocal cuts and glitched effects, creating a hypnotic atmosphere.

On the flip, we first have “No Frichket” dropping a vibrant rumble as the percussion goes wild and the background spirals into jazzy and psychedelic motifs, while “U Bordelu A Casa” closes the 12″ with a thumping rhythm that perfectly concludes the whole sonic journey.
