Arno – We Perfectly Understand Each Other Until We Start To Talk – The Remixes [Brouqade Records]

To celebrate its 50th vinyl release, Berlin-based label Brouqade Records reaches back into the catalogue to Arno‘s album “We Perfectly Understand Each Other Until We Start To Talk” published back in 2019, bringing forward “The Remixes”, an inspiring and collectable record which includes a previously unreleased bonus track and three remixes from Kuyateh, Baby Ford and label head Dana Ruh.

In an era of rapid-release cycles and chasing trends, Brouqade stands out by adhering to a “less is more” philosophy. As Dana Ruh has often explained, the label’s concern is not hype, but quality, emotion and longevity, remaining focused on delivering deep, off-kilter minimal techno and microhouse. Among the artists in the catalogue, we find Signal Deluxe, Benjamin Fehr, Danilo Schneider, Vid, Dragosh, Alex Celler, Disuasiv, Oshana, Christopher Ledger and Giuliano Lomonte.

Hailing from Frankfurt am Main, Arno has been quietly yet persistently working for over a decade, steadily building a reputation as a tasteful, uncompromising artist and label owner. Formerly known as Einzelkind, his music is rooted in stripped-back house and techno, flavoured with dubby minimalism, acid-laced rhythms and hypnotic breakbeats. His work also extends to curating Pressure Traxx, La Peña and Harlo Records.

Side A opens with the bonus track “Gravity”, a meditative composition that serves as a middle ground in Arno’s musical language. Warm pads, shuffling drums and a vibrant yet contemplative overall atmosphere are the ingredients used for this cut. Following, Kuyateh‘s reinterpretation of “Dipset” widens out the original textures with deep organic rhythms, transforming the track into a dancefloor roller packed with trippy effects.

On the flip, Dana Ruh brings her unmistakable, groove-driven touch to “Head Straight”, reshaping the track with skittering broken beats and a wobbling low end. Her remix stays true to the original while reconfiguring its flow into something fresh and irresistibly rhythmic. Closing, Baby Ford‘s Electric Ballroom Mix of “Guernica” reveals a lean and hypnotic sound crafted with minimal aesthetics, perfect for introspective moments.
