Lizz – Atipic 021 [Atipic]

Following the release of the 9th record in the Atipic Lab series by Priku in 2020, local artist Lizz returns with an untitled EP to Atipic’s main catalogue, offering an intense and uplifting sound perfect for already heated dance floors. Rob Small provides the mastering, and Ioana Halunga signs the artwork.

With an extensive discography and frequent appearances behind the decks, Petre Vali, aka Lizz, is one of those artists who love exploring the endless possibilities of modern electronic music. From minimal and microhouse to breaks and trip-hop, he consistently delivers inspiring grooves and creates immersive soundscapes that engage both the mind and the body. Last year, he released “Intoxicated EP” on the digital side of our feeder sound label and co-founded Radial Records with Cosmjn.

ATIPIC021 marks the imprint’s second vinyl release this year, with Sublee‘s 20th entry in the main series being pressed in September. As expected, the record showcases an unconventional sound, as structure, rhythm and textures unfold as a mix of uptempo tech house and techno, with a minimalist aesthetic at its core. Here, Lizz pushes the bpm at around 130/132, unleashing a thundering resonance.

The 12″ provides four tracks designed with driving beats, solid basslines, intricate synth arrangements and smooth modulations, while breakdowns are carefully placed in order to create tension. Vocal cuts can be heard here and there, adding extra spice to the roaring rhythms.
