The latest digital release brought forward by the Romanian label UNS Records features the imprint’s head chefs Unisson alongside Andu Simion on a back-to-back sonic journey titled “Acid Poles EP”. With eight tracks connected by vibrant TB-303 basslines, the material brings the three producers together for an experimental concept focused on minimal techno, microhouse and tech house with a pinch of acid. The mastering is signed by Vlad Caia at Composure Audio Works and the artwork by Skindots & Andu.

Widely known for their continuous and inspiring work in the electronic music scene, Alex, Nicolae and Andu deliver yet another amazing experience through this distinct collaboration, as all tracks have a common sound while each is different in its own way, making the EP work as a whole session, as well as a collection of stand-alone tools.

“We talked with Andu about the project, and we really liked the idea of a back-to-back series, where each of us contributes our own track, just like in a DJ session. It’s a bit different from a classic collaboration where producers work on the same tracks, and that’s exactly what we felt would create a positive challenge. In the end, we managed to put together a pack of eight tracks that share a common element: TB-303 basslines, the iconic sound that has travelled the world since the 1980s.” – Unisson

Our featured premiere for today, Unisson‘s “Triphouse”, offers an uplifting groove defined by tight drums, weaving synth bursts, trippy effects and phased vocal cuts that add extra tension. Their other three tracks – “This Connect”, “Rhythm Language” and “Consciousness Expander”– are equally engaging, merging elements from house, acid and breaks into intense soundscapes that provide dynamism and introspection at the same time.

Complementing Unisson, Andu Simion‘s tracks “Symmetric V”, “Spectrum Delay”, “GPS Error” and “Acid Ballance” flow with a subtle contrast, as the rhythms are more stripped-down while the background layers receive dub and electro influences, making the EP a must-have collectable for electronic music enthusiasts and selectors alike.
