UK-based record label Sonet returns with a third Various Artists compilation, this time featuring four deep minimal cuts signed by Jay Tripwire, Rares Romanov, Suolo and Vedana. Each track is warm and rich in detail, offering trippy textures and hypnotic melodies, smoothly mixed with dub-infused basslines and rhythmic precision. The mastering is signed by Justin Drake. Early support arrives from Vlad Arapasu, Venda, Herck, userUNKNWN and Gruia, among others.

With previous titles in its vinyl catalogue provided by Gruia, Olivier Romero, Ciprian Stan, Cipo, Rares Romanov, Root, Dudley Strangeways, Mortalyf, Ckb and Denis Andreev, Sonet always delivers captivating underground music from the deeper end of the spectrum, standing as a beacon of inspiration in the international scene.

Side A opens with “Yellow Lined Paper” by Jay Tripwire, setting the tone. Expect a hypnotic start powered by stripped-down percussive arrangements, abstract textures and glitched complementary layers that seem to open a tunnel in spacetime leading to a trippy sonic dimension. Next, Rares Romanov drops “This Is”, taking the vibe even deeper with a driving rhythm drenched in pulsating synth bursts, wobbling basslines, jazzy insertions and eerie vocal chants backed by direct messages at the right time.

On Side B, we first find “Manifest” by Suolo, a vibrant, low-slung cut infused with an alluring haze of rotating sounds that permeate through the frequency spectrum with style, elegantly led by a swinging set of drums, reverberating bass chords and psychedelic low-ends. Closing, Vedana’s “Komorebi” provides an immersive composition perfect for late-night sessions on the dancefloor.
