Unknown – TELUM014 [Telum]

The mysterious record label Telum returns with the 14th chapter in its catalogue, delivering four dancefloor gems signed by different artists from around the world. As usual, the names remain undisclosed, so the focus falls on the music. Early support arrives from Raresh, Olga Korol, Mihai Pol, Janeret, Alci and others.

Keeping it underground since 2018, Telum is a well-known and respected record label dedicated to the minimal and microhouse culture. The imprint also runs an ongoing podcast series, which now counts 35 episodes, as well as two sister labels, Aurum and Novum. On several occasions, Telum teamed up with Into The Woods, Pooku Events, Fabric London and Minimalism LDN, throwing memorable parties guided by the music of artists like Lee Clement, Gojnea76, Damian Nova, Derek, Kolo & Dyze, SIT, Sepp, Nu Zau, Tarek Charbonnier, Krif, Iuly.B, Max Frisina, Priku, Ferro and Petre Inspirescu, to name a few.

Side A opens with a steady-paced composition flavoured with hip-hop samples and airy deep house chords that smoothly blend with warm drumming patterns and lush breathing moments. The next cut takes the vibe even deeper, offering a vibrant mix of minimal house and wobbling, dubby sounds that create an immersive and melancholic sonic affair. Both tracks provide that specific groove best suited for the afterhours or lazy afternoon sessions.

In contrast, Side B focuses on late-night vibes, as both tracks here switch to a higher tempo, delivering a tight and uplifting experience designed for the dancefloor. The vocal snippets add extra flair, while the relentless drums will make anyone start moving their body in seconds.
