Chilean artists Camilo Gil and Rodrigo Valdivia join forces for “The Sleepery Traveller” EP alongside Switzerland’s own Nicolas Duvoisin on remix duties. Brought forward through Silvi Digital, the four-tracker showcases the duo’s refined touch within the minimal house and deep scenes, delivering three hypnotic original cuts that flow between intricate grooves, warm textures and captivating rhythmic layers. The mastering is provided by RV Audio and the artwork by Tom Lee.

Since the early 2000s, Camilo Gil has left his mark on international electronic music, starting as a DJ at underground events in Chile and going on to gain worldwide recognition by performing alongside renowned artists and bands like Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Dandy Jack, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Apollonia, Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation. Over time, he got involved in numerous collaborative projects and published his productions via renowned labels, while launching W3ird Ltd and Moowi Foundation in partnership with Øne+1, as well as Rock Tha House Traxx alongside Mario Flores Monico.

Rodrigo Valdivia is a Chilean DJ and producer who has redefined the electronic scene in southern Chile since 2006. His unique style, which he defines as “espacial” (spatial), combines minimal techno and microhouse to create sonic experiences that connect memories with emotions on the dancefloor. From his beginnings at Radio Cigarra to sharing the DJ booth with artists like Steve Bug, Ricardo Villalobos, Francesco del Garda and Petre Inspirescu, Rodrigo has taken his sound from his hometown of Temuco to international stages in Uruguay, Bolivia and Argentina, always delivering the proper vibes. He is currently the owner of the Pillan Music label, founder and director of Academia Alma (electronic music school in Temuco), active member of the Newen collective and a resident DJ at Lab Music and Oculto parties.

Camilo Gil and Rodrigo Valdivia are also known for their lasting friendship and numerous collaborations, most notably their Area 51 project, with releases on Cadenza Lab, Houseworks, Levitar Recordings and W3ird Ltd.

While the original version of “Enigma” lays out a spacious, atmospheric composition that dives into mysterious jazzy textures, tribal-infused percussion and guiding vocal samples that build tension without bursting, Nicolas Duvoisin‘s remix goes all in for that specific detail, reimagining the track into a deep, rolling journey taken over by wavy drums, meandering arpeggios and phased vocals.

Heading Fantastic Friends Recordings since 2009, Nicolas Duvoisin is widely known for his sonic adventures around the world as he constantly explores various musical horizons and steps out of his comfort zone in order to deliver timeless productions and DJ sets. Among the labels he worked with, we find Eminor Records, Musique Unique, Underground, Snork Enterprises, Circle Music, Splitools, Akta Records, Relax 2000 Records, Kina Music and Cervidae, to name a few.

Opening the EP, “Backward Days” drops the drums first and slowly evolves into a swinging rhythm as soon as the strings and pads kick in, diving deep into funky streams and dubbed-out effects that create a steady flow of energy. “Spacial Dub” complements the release with a distinct take on the minimalistic aesthetics of the EP, bringing forward precise dubby percussion mixed with enveloping complementary layers, perfect for late-night sessions.

Based in Berlin, Silvi Digital was launched in 2024 as the digital counterpart of Roy Brizman‘s vinyl label Silvi Recordings and has so far published three titles, with the debut signed by the label head himself alongside Matthew Roffe and userUNKNWN, followed by two other EPs from Lumieux, Barak & Roy Lebens.
