After a short break, Romanian record label Draganenii returns with its 5th vinyl-only title, this time featuring the unique production skills of Bucharest-based artist Emi, well-known for his extended activity in the underground electronic music scene, solo or part of projects like MMM LTD, alongside Dan Andrei and Cap, The Future Future Sound with Dan Andrei and Ritmico with Suciu.

Emi is a prominent figure in both local and international scenes, being part of Sunrise Agency and a constant presence in Romania’s underground scene, performing at Sunwaves Festival and SNRS events hosted by Club Gueshouse in Bucharest. Nonetheless, he enjoys a good reputation abroad as well, being invited to stand behind the decks at venues such as the Supermarket Club in Switzerland, The Block in Tel Aviv, Studio 338 in London, and the Off Week Festival in Barcelona.

Throughout time, under his main alias or monikers like Emi Nescu, CTEPEO or Visullucid, he released numerous independent productions as well as timeless 12″ titles on Catren, Playedby, Undefined Music and his own playground, Contur. He also collaborated with Rhadoo for Fabric 72 and with Raresh for Fabric 78 mix series.

No, not the reincarnation of the King of Rock n Roll, but more like a speed run along obsessive grooves. Flip the record for the stripped slomo version. ElVis has left the building.

Experimental, thundering and full of swing, ElVis#1 lays out meandering funky chords and groovy bass loops smoothly combined with warm, crisp drums, phasing effects and a pulsating sustained arrpegio that draws a sonic spiral into the frequencies.

On Side B, ElVis#2 switches gears and dives into deep and dubby minimal designed with filtered drums, hypnotic effects and hazy atmospheric pads that create a sense of mystery and revelation at the same time, making “ElVis EP” a must-have record for your vinyl collection.

With the first release dropped in 2017 in the form of “Drag And Drob EP” signed by Kozo under his ooodjkoz alias, Draganenii also brought forward two EPs from label founders Andrei Ciubuc and Rhadoo as A_R and another standalone title, “Link EP” by Andrei and Cezar Lazăr.
