Spas Records announces its 4th vinyl-only release to arrive soon, this time featuring Romanian artist Mihigh, who delivers two solid minimal tracks designed with his fingerprint style. Titled “Sequential EP”, the record will be available in a limited number of copies with a No Repress policy applied.

With a catalogue that so far includes two Various Artists compilations (“Cloud Gate” feat. Sascha Dive, Moreon & Baffa, Kike Mayor, Chklte and “The Bridge“ feat. Direkt, VincentIulian, Alvaro Medina, Pinto) and “Nuestra Lucha EP“ signed by He Did alongside Priku and Franco Cinelli on remix duties, Spas Records emerges as a niche, artistically driven electronic music label, one that brings together sound, art and storytelling. The thoughtful curation of the contributing artists and thematic context is deeply rooted in the underground scene and its global community.

Hailing from Cluj-Napoca, Mihigh is widely known for his intense activity behind the decks, which started with a residency at Club Midi in 2007 and gradually expanded well beyond Romanian borders. As a producer, his sound spans the deep, hypnotic intersections of minimal house and techno, characterised by abstract textures, minimalist grooves, dark tones and evolving narratives. In 2014, he launched his first label, Midi Records Romania, while in 2018, a second imprint named Melodrom set sail, pairing him with fellow artists to create singular collaborative releases (“Swingers EP” with Lizz and “Unified Field” with Paul K). Aside from his ventures, he also published some of his works via Playedby, BP Mind Series, Eliptic, Trapped Ldn, Anbu Music, Hashplant and DUB Musik Limited.

True to its title, “Sequential EP” unfolds deliberately, with the two tracks complementing each other while having different moods. On Side A, “Alvorada” provides a playful vibe fueled by stripped-down percussion, tingling additional layers and grunge effects, while on the flipside, “Permutations” reshapes that atmosphere, offering more texture and dynamism, pushing rhythmic variants subtly, yet precisely.

Compared to Mihigh‘s latest releases, which leaned into darker, more obscure minimal, this EP presents a more polished, focused sound that remains shadowy and intricate yet guided by a sharper sense of progression and balance between atmosphere and rhythm.
