Black Box Records returns with its 6th vinyl release featuring label head Vito Fattore, Ortella, Nicola Brusegan & Phill Prince, Chklte on remix duties and V.I.C.A.R.I., the one behind today’s exclusive premiere. BLBX06 is the 4th Various Artists compilation brought forward by the label and once again manages to capture the participating artists’ signature sound, reflected into five classy, ​​mature and dancefloor-ready house-infused tracks.

Sheffield-based DJ and producer V.I.C.A.R.I. is widely known for his intense activity in the electronic music scene, going by numerous aliases and name variations, such as Tommy Vicari Jnr, TVJ, Czevski, General Vex, Iraciv, Tomski and Vibration White Finger. He was also part of several collaborative projects, notably 76 79 with Gunnar Viggosson and Hollow Fraud, Opto Mystics and Luxury Problems with David Taylor. In his career, he released countless vinyl and digital titles through labels like Vanity, Comfortable Records, Space, 320KB Music, Discours, Eclipser Chaser, AMMO84, Cabinet, Robsoul Recordings, Quality Vibe Records, Nixwax, Rhythm Cult, Hearth Records, Rockets Audio, OGE, Parliamnt, Soundrive Music, Vibraphone Records and Stomping Grounds, among many others.

Setting the tone for the VA, the opening track “Sunrise” by Vito Fattore delivers a warm and vibrant house vibe designed with playful percussion patterns, breezy pads, crisp synth stabs and carefully placed breakdowns that emphasise the core layers. Following, Ortella’s “Stand Up” blends energetic funky organs, tight drums and a wobbling bassline with vibrant vocal samples and a driving progression, making this cut perfect for peak time moments at any party.

Concluding Side A, “Shadowdance” from V.I.C.A.R.I. lays out a tension-building groove fueled by thundering drums that smoothly intertwine with ever-evolving atmospheric textures and short breaks, creating an inspiring contrast.

On the flip, we find “Megalove” by Nicola Brusegan & Phill Prince as well as Chklte’s reinterpretation. The original cut delves deep into funky house and deep house tones that resonate with A2 while the “Interdimensional Dub” remix brings microhouse and tech house elements into the game, making this record a must-have for selectors, collectors and house music enthusiasts alike.

Founded in 2016, Black Box Records debuted with Vito Fattore’s “Vicious Circle”, followed by “Icanthelpit EP” by V.I.C.A.R.I. one year later. The other three titles in the imprint’s catalogue are VA’s showcasing the sounds of DJ GLC, The Night Noise, DJ Delivery, Ruff Stuff, the Floska trio, Land 9 and Shacklo.
