feeder sound exclusive premiere: Bosko Balos, Djordje Bastovanovic – Mia’s Whisper EP [Party Zen]
Party Zen, a new label from Serbia focused on deep, minimal and forward-thinking club music, opens its catalogue with a hypnotic split EP from Bosko Balos and Djordje Bastovanovic, delivering a sonic dialogue built on groove, depth and reinterpretation. Titled “Mia’s Whisper EP”, the material offers two original tracks and two remixes flavoured by Justin Drake‘s (The Bakehouse Studio) mastering and artwork & graphic design by Ana Fafulic and Bosko Popovic.
Party Zen is an independent record label dedicated to the deeper shades of electronic music. Born from a need for honesty in sound and expression, the venture connects artists and party goers alike through house, deep tech and minimal aesthetics, aiming to create a movement where rhythm leads and ego dissolves. More than a label, Party Zen acts as an international platform that follows no trends, only its own pulse, connecting creative minds worldwide. The focus is on emotional depth and groove expressed through music and art – no clutter, no noise, just what’s essential.
“To the Fin” by Bosko Balos opens the EP with a vibrant club tool bursting with energy. Driven by a rolling groove and an alluring organ synth melody that takes inspiration from the ’90s house music, the other arrangements fall into place like puzzles, resulting in an organic composition perfect for the dancefloor. On the remix, Djordje Bastovanovic strips down the original, delivering a raw, electro-tinged reinterpretation that adds grit to the core layers, while maintaining a dynamic bounce.
The title track “Mia’s Whisper” sees Djordje dropping a hypnotic minimal trip where crisp, spaced-out drums, floating synth chords and warped vocals spiral into a magical sonic affair best suited for late-night sessions, while Bosko’s remix toughens the vibe with a pounding kick and tight bassline, transforming the original cut into a spicy roller perfect for peak time moments, switching roles with chemistry.
Bosko Balos is quickly becoming a vital force in the Serbian underground electronic scene. As a DJ and producer, he blends the raw energy of ’90s and early 2000s house and techno with a crisp, modern touch, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. With digital releases on Talman, Velvet, Clock’art and Airtime Records, as well as standout vinyl drops on 666 Recordings, Mr. Banger and Sonic Surge, his catalogue speaks to both depth and versatility. His next vinyl EP, slated for release on NOOI Music, is already generating buzz.
Known for his skills behind the decks and supported by Enzo Siragusa, Saoirse, JNJS, Adam Collins, Marko Nastic and Jesse Jacob, he performed alongside James Zabiela and N-Gynn, just as a side note. As the mind behind Food For DJs collective, Bosko continues to shape the future of underground music. In addition, he independently released a house & breakbeat sample pack last month, providing producers with high-quality sounds inspired by his signature style.
With over 20 years of experience under his belt, Djordje Bastovanovic stands as a seasoned figure in the global electronic music scene. Hailing from Loznica, Serbia, he began his career in 2002 and quickly gained recognition for his refined approach to house, tech house, minimal and deep house, delivering a style marked by hypnotic grooves, melodic depth and rolling basslines.
His performances at major events such as Exit Festival and Pyramid Fest have only reinforced his presence across the Balkans and beyond. As a producer, his debut releases on Wanderlust Musica showcase his evolving sound, delving into soulful minimal and rhythmically rich compositions.
